Who we are
Sealpair is operated by AOQ Consulting, LLC ("Sealpair," "we," "us"), based in Ohio, United States. This policy explains what information we collect through sealpair.com and the Sealpair application (the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have about it.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, and some we collect automatically:
- Account information — your email address and, optionally, your name, when you sign in with a magic link.
- Counterparty information — when you finalize an inspection, we collect the email address you provide for the other party, and their name if they attest or dispute the record.
- Team information — email addresses of anyone you invite to a team account.
- Inspection content — the photos, videos, voice memos, captions, checklist selections, annotations, and deduction line items you or a counterparty add to an inspection. Photos, videos, and voice memos may include whatever appears or is audible in them, including incidentally-captured people or property.
- Location data — if your browser or device provides it, we record the approximate GPS coordinates at the moment a photo, video, or voice memo is uploaded, as part of that item's tamper-evident record.
- Attestation records — when you or a counterparty agree to or dispute an inspection, we record the name entered, the decision, any dispute note, a timestamp, and the IP address the attestation was submitted from. This is the evidentiary core of the Service — see the Terms of Use for what it does and doesn't establish.
- Payment information — if you purchase a Pro subscription or a one-time clean-PDF report, payment is handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we do store the resulting Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so we can manage your billing status.
- Marketing list — if you request our free inspection checklist PDF, we store the email address you provide separately from any Sealpair account, so we can send you that resource and occasional related updates.
- Usage and log data — standard web server logs (IP address, request timing, user agent) generated as part of running the Service.
How we use it
- To provide the Service — create and store inspections, generate PDF reports, send counterparty review links, and process payments.
- To communicate with you — magic-link sign-in emails, counterparty attestation requests, stalled-counterparty reminders, receipts, and service notices.
- To maintain the tamper-evident record itself — the whole point of an attestation's name, timestamp, and IP address is to make the record meaningful if it's later relied on.
- To keep the Service secure and working as intended.
- To meet legal obligations, including those tied to processing payments.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Sealpair, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe — processes payments and subscriptions. Your payment details are handled directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy.
- Resend — delivers the transactional emails the Service sends (magic links, attestation requests, reminders, receipts).
- Google Fonts — our pages load two typefaces from Google's font service; see the Cookie Policy for what that involves.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sealpair, our users, or others. Inspection content is, by design, visible to both parties to that inspection — that's the product.
Cookies
We use a minimal number of cookies to run the Service — see our Cookie Policy for the full detail.
Where and how long we keep it
Data is stored on servers located in the United States. We keep account and inspection data for as long as your account is active, since an inspection's evidentiary value depends on the record staying intact — we don't run any automatic deletion on locked (attested or disputed) records. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see "Your choices" below); we'll retain what we're legally required to keep (for example, payment records) for as long as the law requires.
Your choices
- You can delete a draft inspection, or cancel and delete one that's awaiting a counterparty's response, at any time from the inspection page. Once both parties have attested (or one has disputed), the record is locked and can't be deleted through the app, for the same reason it can't be edited — that's what makes it evidentiary.
- To access, correct, export, or delete your account and personal data, email us at privacy@sealpair.com. We handle these requests manually and will respond within a reasonable time.
- You can unsubscribe from the checklist mailing list via the link in any email we send to it.
- You can control non-essential cookies through the banner on this site or your browser settings — see the Cookie Policy.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
